Greek Orthodox memorial services honor Metropolitan Ieremios and Elder Eusebios
On 20 June 2026 the Holy Cathedral of Saint Paraskevi in Kōri hosted the one‑year memorial for the late Metropolitan Ieremios of Agia. The service featured an Archiepiscopal Divine Liturgy celebrated by Metropolitan Nathaniel of Kos and Nisyros, participation of local clergy, the mayor of Kōri and other dignitaries, and prayers accompanied by incense and the chant “Eternal memory” for the repose of Ieremios’ soul.
A day earlier, on 19 June 2026, the Holy Monastery of Saint John the Theologian in Aegialia held an Archiepiscopal Divine Liturgy and memorial for the blessed Elder Eusebios Giannakakis, marking the 31st anniversary of his death. Metropolitan Ieronimos of Kalavryta and Aegialia led the liturgy, with clergy from the wider Orthodox community in attendance. The homily highlighted Elder Eusebios’ humility, love for God and joyful spirit, and the monastic community offered a breviary to the gathered faithful.
