Greek OSDE 2026 subsidy deadline set for May 31 for rented land
The 2023‑2027 Operational Programme for the Development of the Agricultural Sector (OSDE) requires that, by 31 May 2026, Greek farmers demonstrate that all agricultural parcels they intend to include in the Unified Application for Subsidies are in their possession. This applies to both owned plots and rented land, except in cases of force majeure or extraordinary circumstances. The relevant platform is expected to open in the coming days.
A key unresolved issue concerns parcels smaller than 20 stremmata that lack an Asset Identification Number (ATAK) or National Cadastre Code (KA EK). For 2025, a special procedure allowed producers to certify legal possession through a “Responsible Declaration of Land Holding” on the myBusinessSupport portal, citing reasons such as oral agreements or exchanges. It remains unclear whether the same exception will apply for 2026. The General Directorate of Controls, Supports and Payments of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food (GDELEP) will issue the final guidelines.
Eligibility also depends on the land being used for agricultural activity throughout the calendar year and not falling within non‑eligible zones such as Natura 2000 areas with zero suitability coefficient, unless classified as permanent pastures or crops. The same 31 May deadline applies to animal husbandry holdings.
