Greek Parliament: Heated clash between Konstantopoulou and Koukoulopoulos
A heated confrontation occurred in the Greek Parliament between Zoi Konstantopoulou, president of Plefsi Eleftherias, and Paris Koukoulopoulos, a PASOK MP presiding over the session. The dispute arose during the procedures for electing the Fifth Vice-President of the Parliament.
Konstantopoulou accused Koukoulopoulos of acting in favor of the governing New Democracy party and alleged an 'underground cooperation' between PASOK and New Democracy. She further claimed that efforts were being made to block the election of Elena Akrita, the only female candidate for the Vice-Presidency.
The tension escalated when Koukoulopoulos revoked Konstantopoulou's right to speak, citing her vulgar behavior. In response, Konstantopoulou called him a 'tramp' off-microphone. The session was subsequently interrupted to allow for the scheduled vote on the Vice-Presidency.
