Greek Parliament questions island transport and renewable projects

Member of Parliament Kyriakos Velopoulos raised a parliamentary question about the longstanding delay in launching regular seaplane services to the Sporades islands. He asked the ministries of Infrastructure, Transport and Maritime Affairs to explain why scheduled passenger flights have not started despite test flights and private investment, and to provide a timeline for obtaining the required commercial air transport certification.

In a separate parliamentary inquiry, MP Georgios Manousos asked the Minister of Environment and Energy about the protection of the island of Andros from new wind‑park developments. He sought clarification on whether the island’s exemption from the general ban on new wind farms will be maintained, demanded scientific studies on the island’s carrying capacity, and requested an assessment of cumulative environmental, tourism and cultural impacts before any further licences are issued.
