Greek Parliament clashes over Tempi crash bone evidence

A heated confrontation occurred in the Greek Parliament between Justice Minister Giorgos Floridis and Kyriakos Velopoulos, leader of the Greek Solution party, regarding the Tempi train crash investigation.

Velopoulos presented photographs of approximately 200 bones, claiming they were human remains discovered near the investigator's office that had not been included in the official case file. He argued that these findings require urgent investigation.

Minister Floridis vehemently rejected these claims, calling the presentation a “fraud.” He cited a 2024 anthropological report which concluded that the bones shown in the photographs belonged to animals, specifically dogs and cows. Floridis accused Velopoulos of manipulating the emotions of victims' families for political purposes.
