Greek pensioners' September 2026 payments start early

Payments for September 2026 pensions in Greece will begin on Wednesday 26 August 2026 for non‑salaried beneficiaries and for those receiving specific main and supplementary pensions. The first disbursements cover the main pensions of the former non‑salaried funds (OAE, OGA and ETAA), pensions awarded after the creation of EFKA under Law 4387/2016, and private‑sector supplementary pensions. The remaining payments for salaried recipients are scheduled for Friday 28 August 2026, covering main pensions of the former salaried funds (IKA‑ETAM, banks, OTE, Public Power Corp, etc.) as well as public‑sector main and supplementary pensions.

Banks normally credit the amounts in the afternoon of the preceding business day. Accordingly, the 26 August pensions should appear in accounts by the afternoon of 25 August, and the 28 August salaries by the afternoon of 27 August, although exact timing varies by institution.
