Greek pharmaceutical sector sees clawback increase and Lavipharm growth

The Greek government has introduced a new ministerial decision to increase the investment clawback for pharmaceutical companies by approximately 99 million euros for the 2024-2025 period. This measure, funded through the Recovery Fund or the state budget, aims to incentivize capital expenditures in production, products, and services. The regulation allows for a potential 20% increase in funding for approved investment plans that have undergone expansion.

Separately, Lavipharm Group reported its financial results for the first half of 2026. The company saw a 24.1% increase in consolidated sales before clawback and rebate, reaching 38.5 million euros. While consolidated net profits after taxes were 2.4 million euros—a slight decrease from 2.6 million euros in the same period of 2025—this was attributed to the recognition of income from the sale of Pharma Plus in the previous year. Excluding that one-time income, net profits from continuing operations rose by 41.3%. Foreign sales grew by 35% during this period.
