Greek Police Arrest Three Human‑Smuggling Drivers in Evros Region

Greek police detained three foreign drivers accused of transporting illegal migrants into the interior of the country over the weekend.

The first arrest occurred on the national road Ormenio‑Ardani, where border‑guard officers from the Alexandroupoli police division stopped a driver carrying three migrants. The second arrest was on the Alexandroupoli‑Komotini road, where a driver without a licence was caught transporting eight migrants. The third arrest took place on the Kípon‑Alexandroupoli road on 11 July, when another foreign driver was seized with two migrants.

All three vehicles and mobile phones were seized, and the suspects have been handed over to the public prosecutors for further investigation.
