Hellenic Police Saint Artemios Greek Police Day Thessaloniki Lamia

The Hellenic Police celebrated the ‘Day of the Greek Police’ and honored their patron saint, the Great Martyr Artemios, through religious services and official ceremonies across Greece.

In Central Greece, celebrations took place in various regional units, including Boeotia, Euboea, Evrytania, and Phocis. A central ceremony was held in Lamia at the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, presided over by Metropolitan Symeon of Phthiotis. The event included the reading of the Daily Order by Police Chief Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios.

In Thessaloniki, a Doxology was held at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Gregory of Palma, led by Metropolitan Philotheos of Thessaloniki. High-ranking police officials, including Lieutenant General Georgios Papadopoulos and Major General Georgios Zimas, attended alongside various political, judicial, and military representatives. The commemorations served to recognize the mission and service of the police force in protecting citizens.
