Greek Police launch nationwide manhunt for fugitive Alket Rizai

The Hellenic Police have launched a nationwide manhunt for Alket Rizai, a convicted criminal who failed to return to prison following a scheduled leave. Rizai was required to report back to the correctional facility at 8:00 AM, but he failed to appear, violating the terms of his release.

Investigations are currently concentrated in the Attica region, where Rizai was reportedly last seen at a food establishment. Authorities noted that this was his 16th time being granted leave by the relevant council, and he had not previously shown any history of violating the terms of his release.

In addition to the search for the fugitive, police spokespersons issued a warning regarding a recurring scam involving individuals posing as electricity technicians from DEDDIE or other providers to steal cash and valuables from unsuspecting citizens.
