Greek President Konstantinos Tsoulas on Family Sacrifices and New Protocol Limits

President Konstantinos Tsoulas spoke to BHM Gazino about the changes to his daily life after taking office. He said the strict protocol, heightened security and a tightly‑planned schedule have removed the spontaneous contact with ordinary citizens he once enjoyed, noting “I miss the more informal participation in life”.

Despite the constraints, Tsoulas keeps personal habits such as walking, reading and direct conversation with people. He described his family situation, admitting that politics prevented him from being “a good husband and father”, and explained the personal cost of a long political career on his wife Fani Stathopoulou and their children.

He also highlighted his lifelong ties to Epirus and Ioannina, the region of his upbringing, and outlined his vision for Greece—a country with confidence, unity, strong education and restored trust in institutions.
