Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis Sets 2027 Election Date and Proposes Free Electric Vehicles for Agathonisi

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that Greece will hold parliamentary elections in the spring of 2027, urging the government to resolve pending issues before the end of the current term.

He also unveiled a plan to transform the island of Agathonisi into a fully electric community. The proposal includes free replacement of all municipal and private vehicles with electric models, the installation of charging stations at no cost to residents, and a promised upgrade of the island’s port, which locals consider the main outstanding infrastructure need.
