Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis to unveil economic package at Thessaloniki Fair

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is set to present a new economic package at the upcoming International Fair of Thessaloniki. The programme targets a range of measures to ease living costs ahead of 2027, including an increase in the heating allowance of up to €100, a continuation and expansion of the "My Home III" housing support scheme with broader income criteria, and tax reliefs for landlords on property tax (ENFIA) and for self‑employed professionals and SMEs, such as lower income‑tax advance payments and reductions in professional fees.

Additional proposals aim to improve pension benefits for retirees from 2027 and to lower the tax burden on small businesses and freelancers. In response to volatile fuel prices, the government has announced a temporary diesel subsidy of 10 cents per litre for August and is monitoring oil‑price trends linked to Middle‑East developments. The package will be finalised within the next 40 days and will form part of a broader four‑year political programme to be outlined at the fair.
