Greek Professional Pension Funds assets reach €3.09 billion
The total asset value of Greece's Professional Pension Funds reached €3.09 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2026, marking an 8.1% increase compared to the previous quarter. According to data from the Bank of Greece, this represents an absolute growth of €231 million from the €2.859 billion recorded at the end of the first quarter.
The growth was driven by increases in investments across debt securities, mutual funds, and equities. Specifically, investments in debt securities rose to €1.258 billion, fueled by net purchases of domestic and foreign bonds as well as increased valuations of foreign bonds. Although the value rose, the proportion of debt securities relative to total assets decreased to 40.7% from 42.5% in the previous quarter.
Investments in mutual fund units increased to €1.142 billion, up from €1.048 billion, due to higher valuations of both domestic and foreign funds. This brought the share of mutual fund investments to 37.0% of total assets. Additionally, total deposits rose by €13 million to reach €109 million, maintaining a relatively stable share of 3.5% of the total assets.
