Greek property owners receive guidance for secure rental leasing
As the September rental market sees increased mobility due to students and workers moving, property owners in Greece are advised on best practices for secure leasing. Stratos Paradias, president of POMIDA, provides guidance in the book ‘Agorazo Sipi’ (I Buy a House), co-authored with real estate analyst Ilias P. Papageorgiadis.
Key recommendations for landlords include ensuring the property is in safe, functional condition—specifically checking electrical and plumbing installations, windows, and balconies—before listing. It is advised to include a clause in the lease stating the tenant has inspected and approved the property's condition to prevent future disputes. Additionally, landlords must ensure they possess a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before initiating new leases.
