Greek Public Employment Service adds 8,000 jobs to 55+ program
The Public Employment Service (ΔΥΠΑ) has opened applications for an additional 8,000 full‑time positions for unemployed Greeks aged 55 to 74. The new round brings the total number of subsidised jobs in the 55+ programme to 43,000 nationwide.
Employers eligible to apply include municipalities, regions, legal entities of public law, decentralized administrations, and other public‑sector bodies. The subsidy covers 75 % of the wage and social‑security contributions, up to €750 per month per beneficiary, for an initial 12‑month contract that can be extended for a further 12 months.
The budget for the new 8,000 places is €144 million, and the overall programme cost is expected to exceed €660 million. Applications began on 5 August 2026 at 11:00.
