Greek regional and municipal councils to convene on August 27

Several administrative bodies in Greece are scheduled to convene on August 27, 2026, to address regional and municipal governance issues.

The Municipality of Xanthi's Municipal Committee will meet to discuss seven agenda items. Key topics include fire protection for the Open Amphitheater, insurance for municipal vehicles, security for the Old Town Festivals, and the maintenance of traffic signals. The committee will also consider a programmatic agreement with KOINSEP NESTOS.

Simultaneously, the Thessaly Regional Council will hold a session covering ten items. The agenda includes amendments to the regional technical program and the 2026 budget, the establishment of asset evaluation committees, and the opening of an Alpha Bank account to monitor revenues and expenditures for the ‘Antonis Tritsis’ program in Larissa. Other matters involve administrative organization, disciplinary council formation for transport providers in Larissa, and the co-organization of a conference in Volos.
