Greek regional leaders promote economic expansion and international cooperation

Greek regional leaders are focusing on economic expansion and international cooperation. Nikos Hardalias, Governor of Attica, stated that the Attica region has the potential to become an innovation and extroversion hub for Southeast Europe. He emphasized the role of local government in building strong economies through modern infrastructure, research, and access to financing. To support businesses, the Attica Region is implementing the ‘Attiki On’ program, which funds 1,044 investment projects totaling 95.5 million euros, alongside regional programs offering production investment subsidies of up to 65%.

In Thessaly, Governor Dimitris Kouretas met with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Arif Mammadov, to discuss cooperation in agrifood, water management, tourism, and culture. Kouretas proposed a business meeting between Thessalian and Azerbaijani stakeholders to exchange expertise in the agrifood sector. Ambassador Mammadov highlighted shared challenges in water management and drought-resistant crop cultivation, expressing interest in increasing the presence of Greek products, such as dairy, olive oil, and fruit, in the Azerbaijani market.
