French tourism market shows growing interest in Greece

The French tourism market is showing increased interest in Greek destinations, particularly for year-round travel and alternative tourism experiences, as highlighted during the IFTM Top Resa exhibition in Paris.

In Central Macedonia, the region is positioning itself as a four-season destination. This effort is supported by direct flight connections between Thessaloniki and Paris provided by airlines such as Aegean, Transavia, Ryanair, and EasyJet, which facilitate both summer and winter travel.

In Crete, specifically within the Rethymno municipality, there is significant interest in authentic experiences, gastronomy, and off-season tourism. Discussions focused on developing cycling, walking, and conference tourism. To support year-round tourism in Crete, Transavia is expected to provide direct connections from Paris to Heraklion, potentially offering up to four flights per week during the winter period.
