Greece secures five medals, gold for Petros Gkaidatzis, at Rowing Championships

The European Rowing Championships were held in Varese, Italy. Greek rower Petros Gkaidatzis won the gold medal in the men's lightweight single scull, posting a time of 6:50.92. Stefanos Douskos earned a bronze in the men's single scull, while Gabriela Loliou added a bronze in the women's lightweight single scull and a silver in the women's lightweight double scull together with Moulati. The Greek women's double scull pair of Evangelia Anastasiadou and Melina Kontou also captured a silver. In total Greece collected five medals – one gold, two silvers and two bronzes – and finished fifth in the overall medal table.

These results mark the best Greek rowing performance since 2009 and underline the country's growing strength in European competition.
