Greece and Cyprus host school sports and Olympic Day events

Various educational and athletic institutions in Greece and Cyprus held events to promote physical activity and Olympic values.

In Greece, schools participated in the 13th Panhellenic School Sports Day under the theme ‘Leap towards the Future’. Activities included long jump competitions, relay races, and educational workshops. In Kerkyra, the 4th Experimental Primary School organized a ‘Run for Life’ event involving first aid training, nutrition discussions, and environmental awareness. Other participating schools in Spercheiada focused on combining athletic movement with creative arts.

In Cyprus, the Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC) organized Olympic Day celebrations in the mountainous regions of Agios Ioannis and Agros. The event, attended by Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Evanthia Tsolakaki, featured road races and the recitation of the Olympic Hymn to promote the values of Olympism within local communities.
