Greek schools implement mental health awareness programs for students
Educational institutions and community centers in Greece have implemented experiential mental health awareness programs for primary school students to mark World Mental Health Day.
At the 4th Primary School of Didymoteicho, social workers and psychologists conducted sessions for various grade levels. These activities focused on emotional development, communication, and psychological empowerment, helping students recognize and express their feelings while fostering empathy and mutual support within a safe school environment.
In the Zacharo Municipality, the Community Center organized similar initiatives at Kakovatos Primary School. Led by psychologists and social workers, the program included discussions titled ‘My emotions have a voice’ and interactive activities like ‘The Hidden Treasure.’ These sessions aimed to build emotional resilience and self-respect. This initiative is part of the ‘Zacharo Municipality Community Center Action Continuation’ project, co-financed by the European Social Fund+ under the ‘Western Greece 2021–2027’ operational program.
