Greek singer Akylas apologises after Ukrainian Eurovision representative condemns his Russian song performance

Greek artist Akylas performed the t.A.T.u. song “All The Things She Said” at a concert in Technopolis. Ukrainian Eurovision representative Leleka publicly objected, linking the choice to the recent Russian missile attack on Kyiv that left about 30 dead, 99 injured and 10 missing. She said, “My heart is broken” and criticised the song as a symbol of support for the Russian state.

Akylas responded via Instagram Stories, stating the song had personal significance from his teenage years and that he “never intended to hurt, offend or disrespect anyone”. He expressed sincere regret, deleted the post and appealed for peace and understanding. The exchange reignited debate over the role of cultural expression amid the Ukraine‑Russia conflict.
