Greek singer Giorgos Kakov opens up about vocal strain and emotional distress

Singer Giorgos Kakov described a prolonged vocal problem that began in winter and worsened during the previous summer. He said the issue affected his performances on the TV show Fantasia, where he appeared with Panos Kiamos, and that doctors could not determine a cause.

Kakov recalled a moment when, after a program, he locked himself in a bathroom and began to cry, saying, "I locked myself in the bathroom and cried." He attributed the trouble largely to anxiety, noting that prayers and a change in mindset helped his recovery. He added that after opening his lounge Lux, the vocal “crackles” gradually disappeared as his mental state improved.
