Greek sports teams Akritas Koronis and Iraklis begin preseason preparations

Greek sports teams Akritas Koronis and Iraklis B.C. have begun their preseason preparations for the upcoming competitive period.

Akritas Koronis football club held its first team gathering on Monday, August 17, under the leadership of new coach Giannis Vorilas. The roster features several returning players, including Dimitris Koutsoumbos and Vangelis Koulopoulos, alongside seven new signings such as Giorgos Mikelopoulos and Ridgeto Hinda. The club management is currently working to finalize three additional transfers.

In basketball, Iraklis B.C. has started receiving international players in Thessaloniki ahead of their first official gathering on Monday, August 17. Early arrivals include Jon Silas, Cleveland Melvin, and Jaicob Hatcher, with more players expected to arrive throughout the week. Head coach Zoran Lukic will lead medical examinations on Monday, followed by the start of training sessions on Wednesday, August 19. The team's preseason schedule includes a friendly against Aris and an upcoming tournament in Romania.
