Greek Super League: Giannios renews with Aris, Athanasiadis signs for Iraklis

Midfielder Giannis Giannios, 33, has extended his contract with Super League club Aris until the summer of 2027. The player, born on 29 April 1993 in Neochori, Chalkidiki, said the team is "home" and he intends to finish his career there. In the 2025‑2026 season he made 28 appearances, providing five assists and scoring once across the league, cup and UEFA Conference League qualifiers.

Veteran goalkeeper Giorgos Athanasiadis, born 7 April 1993 in Thessaloniki, has returned to his boyhood club Iraklis. The former Aris, AEK and Sheriff Tiraspol keeper signed a new contract after a career that included appearances for the Greek national team and participation in the UEFA Champions League group stage with Sheriff. Iraklis announced the signing, highlighting Athanasiadis’s experience and leadership for the club’s upcoming campaign.
