Greek Survivor Contestant Stavros Floros Loses Leg in Dominican Republic Accident
Twenty‑two‑year‑old Stavros Floros, a contestant on Survivor Greece, was injured while diving off Saona Island in the Dominican Republic. A tourist boat entered a prohibited zone and its propellers struck his lower limbs, causing massive bleeding. He was rescued by fellow contestant Manos Malliaros and airlifted to a hospital, where surgeons amputated his left leg below the knee and worked to preserve mobility in his right ankle.
After surgery, Floros shared an Instagram post expressing gratitude and determination, writing, "I chose hope" and emphasizing that the smile in his photo reflects resilience rather than ease. He thanked the medical team and urged others to stay hopeful despite hardship.
