Greek SYRIZA and Ecologists Greens Form Progressive Alliance

SYRIZA parliamentary group president Rena Dourou announced a joint initiative with the Ecologists Greens, represented by co‑presidents Alexandra Datsere and Niko Aibalios. The parties aim to create a broad progressive front focused on environmental protection, climate action and social issues, asserting that "we need to build a progressive front that will change the political agenda for the environment, the present and the future of our children."

Dourou criticized the current government’s environmental policies as "destructive" and warned against continuing the approach of the past seven years. The collaboration echoes a previous partnership from 2015‑2019 under the SYRIZA administration, with the goal of becoming a significant force within Greece’s centre‑left politics.
