Greece's AADE Chemistry Lab Designated EU Testing Facility for Textiles

The General Chemistry Laboratory of the State, operating under the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), has been officially designated as a European Union Testing Facility for textile products, according to European Commission Executive Decision 2026/1481. This status integrates the lab into the EU network of specialized testing facilities that support market surveillance, product safety verification and uniform application of EU legislation across member states.

AADE Director Georgios Pitsilis said the recognition reflects the high scientific expertise, reliable services and modern infrastructure of the laboratory, and affirmed ongoing investment to further upgrade its testing capabilities.

The designation strengthens Greece’s role in EU cooperation on product compliance, providing support to national market‑surveillance authorities, the European Commission and the EU Product Compliance Network.
