Greek Tax Authority Introduces New One‑Time Process to Lift Bank Account Seizures

Greece's Tax Administration has rolled out a new procedure allowing debtors to request the removal of bank account seizures. The lift can be granted only once per debtor and does not apply retroactively to obligations that arose before the bank is notified.

Requests are submitted through the digital portal MyAADE under the "My Requests" section. Applicants must provide full personal or corporate identification, details of each seizure, and information about the creditor bank. The responsible revenue‑collection office evaluates the application as quickly as possible and issues a decision after verifying the submitted data, in accordance with article 18 of law 5313/2026.
