Greek AADE issues digital transport rules for farm products

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) issued Circular E 2038/2026, signed by its director George Pitsilis, setting new requirements for the digital issuance and transmission of transport documents for agricultural product stocks. All documents must be sent through the myDATA platform. The guidelines allow a handwritten collective dispatch note for shipments to open‑air markets until 11 October 2026, after which digital issuance becomes mandatory on 12 October 2026.

Key provisions include: the counter‑party (trader, cooperative or oil mill) may issue the document and mark it “Reverse Movement”; transfers between a producer’s own fields, farms and storage sites within 10 km are exempt from digital documentation; small producers under the special VAT regime are also exempt. In case of connection loss the transaction continues and the document is recorded once the link is restored. Non‑compliance can attract fines up to 5,000 euros. Phase A of digital monitoring began on 1 December 2025, while Phase B, covering loading, trans‑loading and receipt data, becomes compulsory on 12 October 2026.
