Greek Tax Authority Launches New Property Registry for Agricultural Land

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) is activating the first phase of the new Registry of Property and Management (MIDA), beginning with agricultural parcels. The pilot links the tax portal E9 with the Greek Land Registry and the Agricultural Support Organization (OSDE) to cross‑check ownership data, surface area, location and use, using satellite imagery where needed.

Landowners will be asked to review the information shown in MIDA and correct any discrepancies through E9. The system aims to identify inaccurate declarations, undeclared rental income, errors in property tax (ENFIA) calculations and cases of illegal subsidy collection. Once the agricultural survey is completed, October agricultural subsidy payments will be based on the verified MIDA data. After the pilot, MIDA will expand to cover all real‑estate assets, creating a digital folder for each property that consolidates identifiers, utility connections and other key details.

The initiative is intended to improve tax compliance, reduce fraud in agricultural support payments and provide a unified database for property ownership across Greece.
