Greek tax authority seizes 4,712 illegal supplements in Attica

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) and its Directorate of Investigation and Economic Crime (DEOS) conducted coordinated inspections at a pharmacy and a distribution company in Attica. They confiscated 4,712 units of dietary supplements that were not authorized by the National Organization for Medicines (EOF) and lacked the required Greek labeling.

The seized products represented tax evasion exceeding €200,000. The authorities have opened a criminal case of felonious character against the operators, imposed administrative fines for the labeling violations, and continue intensive market checks to curb illegal health‑product trade.

The action underscores the focus on protecting public health and ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations in Greece.
