Greek Tax Authority Sets July 31 Deadline for First Income‑Tax Installment
On Friday 31 July, Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) announced that the first instalment of the personal income tax must be paid by all wage earners, retirees, self‑employed professionals and enterprises. The same date marks the due of the fifth instalment of the property tax (ENFIA) and the second‑quarter VAT for businesses and professionals.
Taxpayers who settle the entire amount before the end of July receive a discount of 2 % to 4 % depending on when their tax return was filed. Late or modified returns that increase tax liability by more than €100 trigger penalties of €100, €250 or €500 and interest of 0.73 % per month, based on the taxpayer’s classification. The July tax calendar expects total collections of about €8.564 trillion, the highest monthly revenue of the year.
