Greek television networks face critical ratings evaluation period
Greek television channels are entering a critical evaluation period as the new season begins, with many premieres scheduled for September 21. Broadcasters are closely monitoring viewership ratings, which will determine the future of various programs and presenters. A formal assessment period is expected to run from October through December.
ANT1 is placing significant emphasis on the return of the investigative program ‘Apokalypseis’ (Revelations), hosted by Petros Kousoulos. The show, which will air daily from 14:00 to 16:30, aims to boost channel ratings through investigative reporting on high-profile cases. Kousoulos will be joined by Thanasis Katerinopoulos.
Other networks are also facing scrutiny. On Open TV, despite achieving double-digit ratings, internal tensions within the ‘10 Pantoú’ duo of Stravelakis and Papakostopoulou have been noted, requiring intervention from Christos Panagiotopoulos to maintain stability. The industry anticipates that low performance during this initial period may lead to internal reshuffles or the removal of certain presenters.
