ANT1 announces new period drama series Krino kai Agkathi

ANT1 is launching a new period drama series titled ‘Krino kai Agkathi’ (Lily and Thorn), set in the mountainous region of Arcadia in 1959. The plot follows Markos Arvanitis, who returns home after serving fifteen years in prison for a murder he did not commit, having taken the blame to protect his younger brother.

His return is complicated by his marriage to Lefki, a woman he met through correspondence while incarcerated. However, Lefki’s presence is part of a calculated plan for revenge, as she believes Markos is responsible for the violent death of her brother. The series explores the tension between these two families as long-buried secrets and old grievances surface.

The production is directed by Andreas Morfonios and stars Anastasia Pantousi and Giorgos Gerontidakis. The drama focuses on the conflict between love and vengeance, and whether a relationship built on deception can survive the truth.
