Greek TV Host Katerina Kainourgiou Visits Paros Shrine After Vow Fulfilled by Birth of Daughter

Television presenter Katerina Kainourgiou had vowed a year earlier at the Panagia Ekatontapyliani church on Paros—known locally as the "Panagia Deomeni"—that she would become a mother. She recently gave birth to a daughter with her partner Panagiotis Koutsoumpis. To thank the icon, Kainourgiou returned to the sanctuary, posted images on Instagram, and offered a golden "thank you" donation. In her posts she described the icon as one of the most miraculous relics in the church and recounted the personal significance of the fulfilled vow, expressing deep gratitude and happiness.

The shrine, famed for its depiction of the Virgin Mary with uplifted hands, attracts pilgrims from across Greece. Kainourgiou’s visit highlighted both her personal gratitude and the broader cultural reverence for the site.
