Greek TV Hosts Discuss Fathers on Father's Day

During a Father's Day broadcast, Greek television host Lazos Mantikos called his father live on the show “Psichagogia Kyriakatika,” sharing personal memories and describing his father as a “hard‑rock, steadfast” figure who influenced his love for singer Stelios Kazantzidis.

In a separate program, presenter Petros Kostopoulos used the occasion to criticize what he sees as the societal undervaluation of fathers. He remarked, “The father is worth far more than what women have been giving lately,” and accused certain feminist voices of exaggerating the mother’s role while diminishing the father’s contribution to families.

Both segments highlighted a broader cultural debate in Greece about gender roles and the recognition of fathers during the holiday.
