Greek TV hosts Giorgos Liagkas and Grigoris Arnaoutoglou clash over morning show

Grigoris Arnaoutoglou accused Giorgos Liagkas of “boured” behaviour after a phone interview, saying Liagkas kept talking to himself and that he would not return to the morning programme. Arnaoutoglou also criticised Liagkas’s focus on a specific channel slot, calling the incident a “mess”. Liagkas counter‑argued that television programming is largely entertainment, not news, and defended his position.

Grigoris Gountaras later commented on the dispute, stating, “I can’t understand why Giorgos Liagkas feels the need to victimise himself.” He described Liagkas’s on‑air frustrations, including technical problems with studio lights that forced Liagkas to wear sunglasses during the broadcast and his complaints about the show’s timing and pay.

Both hosts highlighted ongoing tensions within Greek morning television, reflecting broader debates about the balance of information and entertainment on TV.
