Greek TV presenter seeks to retract domestic violence allegations

A well-known Greek television presenter intends to withdraw her allegations of domestic violence against her husband, a 39-year-old musician. Her lawyer informed the Summary Court that the presenter does not feel threatened or in danger, characterizing the incident as merely an intense verbal altercation.

Despite the intention to retract the statement, the prosecution is pursuing criminal charges for simple domestic bodily harm, an offense prosecuted ex officio. The court has postponed the trial until Thursday, August 27. While the defendant's detention has been lifted, the court ordered him to remain away from the family residence until the final verdict, a measure that will be reviewed during the upcoming hearing.
