Greek U16 water polo team finishes third at Balkan Championship

Greece's under‑16 men's water polo team was eliminated in the Balkan Championship semifinals, falling 13‑14 to Hungary on 18 July after a tightly contested match that saw the lead change several times.

The following day the Greeks faced Montenegro in the small final at the Poseidonio swimming pool. Led by notable performances from Diogenis Tountopoulos and Ilias Zafeiris, Greece won 14‑11 to claim third place. The tournament served as preparation for the upcoming World Championship in Zagreb (3‑9 August).
