Greek universities admit record numbers of students in 2026

The Department of Administrative Science and Technology at ELMEPA enrolled 134 new students, exceeding the 9,000‑point admission threshold for the first time and achieving a top score of 18,140 points. The department filled all 130 available places, ranking first among Crete’s economics‑related programs.

At the University of Western Macedonia, 3,198 students were admitted, an increase of 281 from the previous year. The highest admission score was recorded by the Psychology department in Florina (15,915 points). Significant rises were noted in Computer Science (Kastoria), Chemical and Mechanical Engineering (Kozani), and Electrical Engineering (Kastoria), while the Obstetrics department in Ptolemaida saw the largest drop.
