Greek universities announce September transfer process for first-year students

The Greek Ministry of Education has announced that the electronic application process for first-year university students wishing to transfer or relocate between institutions will open within September.

To access the information system, students must obtain their academic service credentials (such as Academic Identity and Evdokos) no later than September 22, 2026. Applications are submitted through a dedicated electronic platform provided by the Ministry.

Key requirements for a successful transfer include:

1. Departmental Correspondence: There must be an official correspondence between the current department and the target department as defined by the Ministry. For the 2026-2027 academic year, 91 departments have no corresponding matches in other cities.

2. Transfer Base: The difference between the student's admission score and the admission base of the target department must not exceed 2,750 points. Notably, students are not required to meet the minimum admission base (EBE) of the destination department.

3. Socio-economic Criteria: Eligibility may also depend on specific social or economic factors, including family income, status as a member of a large family, having siblings studying in a different city, or specific health and disability considerations.
