Greek universities host academic ceremonies and health conferences

The University of Patras marked the start of the new academic year with a traditional blessing ceremony led by Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras. The event was attended by the University Rector, Vice Rectors, and members of the Governing Council. During the service, the Metropolitan offered wishes for the health and progress of the student body and the academic community, noting the university's global reputation.

In preparation for the upcoming term, the University of Patras is also hosting the ‘Welcome to UP 2026’ festival. Scheduled for October 7–9 at the Peace Park, the event features athletic demonstrations, interactive games, and sessions with local sports teams like Apollon Patras and Aiolos Rugby to welcome first-year students.

Separately, the University of Thessaly will host the 10th Conference on ‘Prevention in Women’s Health’ on September 25–26 in Larissa. Organized in collaboration with the Women’s Health Care Society of Greece, the conference will address advancements in HPV research, biomarkers in obstetrics and gynecology, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in surgical practices.
