Greek utility PPC acquires AI firm Cloudevo and expands solar‑wind portfolio

Public Power Corporation (PPC), Greece’s largest power utility, completed an 80% takeover of Cloudevo, a Greek artificial‑intelligence and digital‑marketing specialist. The remaining 20% stays with founder Nikos Iliopoulos, who will remain chairman and CEO. The deal, which follows the sale of CVC Capital Partners’ stake, is part of PPC’s broader push to strengthen its digital capabilities and AI‑driven services.

Separately, PPC Renewables signed agreements to acquire full ownership of a major solar project portfolio and six operating wind farms in Greece. The solar assets comprise 12 companies with a combined capacity of about 1,175 MW, while the wind farms add roughly 107 MW across Fthiotida, Fokida and Florina. These acquisitions support PPC’s target of raising its installed renewable capacity from 7.2 GW in 2025 to 18.8 GW by 2030. Earlier in the year the utility secured up to €175 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to fund renewable projects in Greece, Romania and Bulgaria.
