Greek women's volleyball team suffers defeats in Italy friendlies

The Greece women’s national volleyball team played two final friendly matches in Urbino, Italy. On August 15 they were beaten 0‑3 (22‑25, 17‑25, 22‑25) by Sweden, with the Greeks scoring three aces and 39 attacks. The next day they lost a close 2‑3 match to Italy (26‑28, 20‑25, 25‑20, 25‑21, 11‑15). Coach Apostolos Oikonomou used the games to test line‑ups ahead of the European Championship. After the tour the squad will return to Athens for indoor training in Glyfada before heading to the Czech Republic and playing two more friendlies against Portugal on August 16‑17.
