Green Bay Packers activate wide receiver Savion Williams from injured reserve

The Green Bay Packers have activated wide receiver Savion Williams from injured reserve, making him eligible for the upcoming matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Williams, a former third-round pick, has completed a two-week practice window following an ankle injury sustained during the preseason.

Head coach Matt LaFleur indicated that while the team may utilize Williams’ unique versatility, he is expected to return primarily as a wide receiver. LaFleur noted significant improvement in Williams’ route-running ability during his recovery.

Williams' return comes at a critical time for the Packers' receiving corps, which is currently facing depth issues due to injuries to Jayden Reed and Skyy Moore, as well as the departures of Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks. Williams will look to provide support behind Christian Watson and Matthew Golden.
