Tucker Kraft nears return to Packers lineup following ACL injury
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft is nearing a full return to action following a torn ACL suffered during the 2025 season. Kraft has participated in joint practices with the Arizona Cardinals, expressing optimism about his recovery and physical readiness. While he is expected to be available for the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, he will likely operate on a limited snap count to manage his workload.
In addition to his physical recovery, Kraft’s professional future remains a point of discussion. As he enters the final year of his rookie contract, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst noted that while the team would love to reach an extension, negotiations are ‘complicated’ and the franchise is in no immediate rush to finalize a deal before the season begins.
The Packers are also managing depth concerns at the position, as backup tight end Luke Musgrave is expected to miss the first four games of the season due to a neck injury. This situation may prompt the team to seek additional depth through trades or waivers.
