Green Bay Packers re-sign linebacker Isaiah McDuffie

The Green Bay Packers have signed linebacker Isaiah McDuffie to a one‑year contract extension worth just under $5 million, keeping him under contract through the 2027 season. The 2021 sixth‑round pick has spent his entire five‑year career with the team, appearing in 80 of a possible 85 regular‑season games and starting 38 of them. Last season he played all 17 games, recording 92 tackles, one sack and one interception; his career totals include about 320 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, nine quarterback hits, two sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.

At 27, McDuffie is expected to shift into a reserve role in the Packers’ new 3‑4 defensive scheme under coordinator Jonathan Gannon, providing depth behind Edgerrin Cooper and Zaire Franklin. The extension reflects the franchise’s focus on retaining familiar defensive pieces while it also works on contract deals for other players such as tight end Tucker Kraft and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt ahead of training camp.
