Green Bay Packers sign veteran guard Cordell Volson

The Green Bay Packers have signed veteran offensive guard Cordell Volson to their practice squad. The move comes as the team seeks to address depth issues on the offensive line following a difficult Week 1 performance against the Minnesota Vikings.

Volson, 28, was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 50 career games, including 48 starts, primarily at left guard. After missing the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury that required surgery, Volson spent the most recent training camp with the Tennessee Titans but was released during final roster cuts.

The 6-foot-6, 325-pound lineman previously played for North Dakota State, where he was a first-team All-American. The Packers' decision to add Volson follows struggles with the interior line, including a Week 1 game where backup Donovan Jennings started in place of the injured Aaron Banks.
